Tires?

Hello Folks,

I see there are some activities using giant truck or tractor tires for mma and crossfit training. Any idea what the easiest way to get one is?

Be well,

Re: Tires?

Tire shops often have large worn out truck tires that are to be sent off that they will get rid of for reasonable prices.

Coal Mines are the best place to get enloader tires (600lbers) if you live near one. Usually, you can find worn out ones near their repair shops that someone will gladly get rid of for the cost of the sheer amusement of watching someone load it into a pick up.

Good luck.

I'd start with tire shops and asking about worn out tires to be used for your personal fitness (flipping, pounding, etc.).

All the best,
Arden

Re: Tires?

I got mine from a tractor shop (around 500-600lbs). It was free and the guy even forklifted it into my truck.

Good Luck!

Re: Tires?

If you can find either of the aforementioned businesses, they are often eager to give them away, rather than pay for their disposal.

My best deadlift is 255lbs and I can flip a 400lber. Plus, I'm a girl, I'm sure you guys can push more.

Good Luck!

A forklift??? The shame of it all. I hope you were wearing a suit or at least a tie. (joke.)

Re: Tires?

another thought as far as bigger tires is equipment rental places. they have tires from all sorts of equipment like the solid skid steer tires for drags, small tractor tires and the like. I would look at any old mechanic or farm equipment place but I am in oklahoma so we have them laying around all over the place, unlike in philly I would imagine.

Re: Tires?

I snagged a truck tire from a freeway offramp the other day. I was amped but couldn't get any of my coworkers to try it out with me at lunch.
