Re: Have we all seen this yet?

I know all sports suffer from this, but when one team really gets into the lead with GRID, it does really kill the viewing experience because you know there are only so many points left up from grabs

Compare to say tennis where a player can be 2 sets and a break down and come back to win !

As a fan of crossfit/functional fitness i have watched every single GRID event, from the combines, to the test events to all proper matches to date.

It was really exciting at the start but already by interest is starting to wane, and that's from someone who is really into it. A casual's fan interest is going to wane much quicker.

anyway i will keep watching and keep supporting and i truly hope it takes off. This last match had the emptiest stadium yet.

Re: Have we all seen this yet?

GRID has made a few changes since the combines and preseason that I think are good.

They have required uniforms with the players last name and number on it, and required that the male athletes actually wear their shirts the whole time, and not take off their shirts whenever they feel like it.

They have standardized the competition format and given the different matches names after mountains: Kilimanjaro, McKinley, etc.

They have named their championship trophy: The Pinnacle Trophy.

Yes making strides.. addict of this type of sports.. still need to get a one on one.. Sam and Buddy vs.. who ever..

Smaller venues so the crowd is into it... 14.5 had about 2-3k people watching.. was crazy to watch.

Re: Have we all seen this yet?

the last match i think was at a college stadium and was much much fuller. Looked so much better. I think it's a great idea having the matches at college stadiums, you have all the college kids as potential audience. Give them cheap tickets etc. Get a beer on board and the kids get a free beer on entry

every team really needs one bodyweight specialist for both sexes and one weighlifting specialist for both sexes

Re: Have we all seen this yet?

The New York v Miami match available in full here

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJmfD_o932c

is the best match i have seen by a mile. it's GRID at it's best

So if you don't like this match, then you just won't like GRID at all

This match was excitingly close, had plenty of big names, judging appeals etc

It's the first match i was getting out of my chair shouting at the tv

Guys don't post any spoilers for this match, give people a chance to watch it unspoiled

I agree, one of the best matches I've seen thus far. Been at the event and watching the matches in person was extremely thrilling...

That's actually pretty damn genius right there.

Re: Have we all seen this yet?

I don't like the challenge flags. It seems like a coach can challenge any rep or no-rep call on their team or the other team, and if the coach prevails, then at least part of the race is done over. Too many challenges will slow down the action, and that is exactly what Grid does not need.

Re: Have we all seen this yet?

Latest match was also very close and exciting ! (LA v Phoenix)

Yeah the judging review needs tweaking.

The action is so fast and furious, no way there won't be errors in judging decisions. In most sports you have to deal with those bad ref calls
