CSUSB Workout Log

This log is for WODs performed at California State University San Bernardino (CSUSB henceforth) or by CSUSB students, alumni, etc.

I won't be starting today, as jeans have proved to be the bain of squatting/running workouts and in general are just bad attire to work out in.

Let the games begin...

Well I tried a 5k yesterday, not a resounding success as I completed about a third of it running and then walked the rest, perhaps starting on shorter distances and being hydrated will help future runs.

Time ~50-60 minutes.

I'll be doing CFT later today if anyone sees this and is interested.
Probably around 3-4pm.

CrossFit Total: 545

Back Squat = 190
Shoulder Press = 100
Deadlift = 255


Disappointed on the SP, at least 15 lbs less than usual. Don't remember PRs for the other exercises. Also tried BP, since there is a weightlifting contest at school in November (deadlift/bench press), only 135, another disappointment but all should be up after two weeks or so.

Three rounds for time of:
50 Jump rope, double unders
50 Hip Extensions
50 GHD Sit-ups


I substituted 30 reps for each, so:

3 X
30 Jump rope, double unders
30 Hip Extensions
30 GHD Sit-ups

~11:00 minutes, as I don't have a stop watch on me.

Man am I out of shape. I'll also be sure to check the length of the jump rope prior to double-unders next time, I'd rather not repeat the whipping my left arm got from multiple misses.

For time:
50 Pull-ups
50 Ring Dips
40 Pull-ups
40 Ring Dips
30 Pull-ups
30 Ring Dips
20 Pull-ups
20 Ring Dips
10 Pull-ups
10 Ring Dips


I started at 30. No rings, so just regular dips, which was fine because my arms were shot. Time: ~30 minutes. Tomorrow is either Tabata something else, or deadlift, depending on whether I remember a stopwatch.

Finals last week caused me not to workout, or rather it was laziness and my excuse was finals, one of which I bombed for a C-. Got an A- in the class overall but really needed the A.

Anyway did this yesterday.

For time:
Run 800 meters
95 pound Shoulder press, 21 reps
Run 800 meters
95 pound Push press, 21 reps
Run 800 meters
95 pound Push Jerk, 21 reps

Substituted two 30lbs dumbells, probably should have done 35/40lbs but I didn't know how my arms would hold up with all the stabilization. This was basically the only workout I could plausibly do at the UV Community Center.

Time: 18:59

The level of exactness has gone up since I got a phone that has a stopwatch, don't want to leave it lying around if I can help it though.

Being Labor everything was closed so I went for a run. I initially guessed it was about 3 miles, but after checking it came to ~2.5 miles.

Time 20:27 - (~30-60sec stop time).

We'll see what I get to today, also need to plan a workout for the camping trip I'll be on.

I had forgotten to mention that I used the pose running technique. Needless to say, if you've tried the POSE before your calves are done for for a while. They are quite sore today, really tight after the run, but I'd rather have weary calves than an overall weary body from the strike/pull/push technique. Besides my calves I came out of the run feeling good, though I did push it to about as far as my legs could make it doing that technique, not a bad pace either, probably sub 8 min mile, marginal, though I haven't ran in quite some time.

Did Helen yesterday (09/05/08).
3 Rounds for time:
400m run
21 Kb swings 55lbs
12 PU

I substituted 45lbs instead and can't remember if my time was around 19 minutes or 24 minutes.

We'll see what I have time for today.
