What is a good warm-up for Barbara???

Since Barbara has a lot of the same movements as the CFWU, what would be a good warm-up for this workout?

Re: What is a good warm-up for Barbara???

When Barbara comes up, I do the following:

60 Jumping Jacks
21 Arm Circles Foward
21 Arm Cicrles Backwards
Rotate my neck a few different ways
Samson Stretch hold 20 seconds
2- 3 minute rounds of light shadow boxing
10 Dips
5 Burpees
Three different small light leg stretches

There is no rhyme or reason to my madness in this WU, I just have been doing this one when Cindy, Tabatas and Barbara come up to name a few, other than that I do the CFWU.

You can do just a few reps of each movements, or a light 500m row.

I usually row a nice and easy 1,000m and do a few tuck jumps.

Burpees warm you up for everthing!

Do 50 burpees for time then some light streching fallowed by a few minutes rest then kill it!

Oddly enough I still think the CFWU is kosher.

I think Coach G once said something like, "Your bodies' capacity for bodyweight calisthenics is remarkable..."

I think we over-estimate* the effect the CFWU has on our ability to perform a Barbara, Angie, Cindy, or Murph type of WOD.

*Of course if the CFWU is a challenge then you are where you are...

Re: What is a good warm-up for Barbara???

I'm hitting Barbara today, and my warmup will be:

A minute of streching my shoulders (tendinitis issue that needs extra love)
10 arm circles forward
10 arm circles backward
Samson strech, approx. 30 seconds per leg
10 dips
10 45 pound overhead squats (loosens you up soooo nice)

Then....3,2,1, GO! (Anticipating many much pain, did Barbara once before and she was cruel to me ...)
