Task:

Back Squat 3-3-3-3-3 reps

Warm up:

135# x 6
185# x 5
225# x 4

Workout:
295# x 3
315# x 3 (OLD PR)
320# x 3 (PR)
325# x 3 (PR)
330# x 3 (PR)

I was very excited for todays WOD cause i knew i would set a new PR. i was able to add 15# and it felt amazing. while i was resting in between sets (5 min) i noticed another guy loading up the bar with 3 45# plates, getting ready for some back squats. i usually laugh when most guys stack on a large amount of weight for squats because when they actually perform the exercise they only go down a quarter of the way, maybe getting at most a 120 degree bend in their knees. not this guy though, he pounded out 10 perfect reps, getting below parallel with no butt dip. i was amazed! he finished 4 sets.

cant wait for this one to came around again!! setting and demolishing PRs baby!!

For time:
100 Pull-ups (kipping)
100 Push-ups
100 Sit-ups (feet anchored)
100 Squats

Time = 21:16:55

thought I was gonna die on this one. my muscles were still in pain from tuesdays WOD and from practicing dips, muscle-ups (which still elude me), pullups, and pushups on my newly purchased rings. I was going to skip today and do the WOD for tomorrow but i am going to watch the ufc fights tonight and it also happens to be one of my friends birthdays so i know i will have a little something to drink tonight.

can't wait to meet Angie again! when i'm fresh so i can make a better impression!

330# on 3 reps! Wow, what's your 1RM? Freakin' 400#??

I'm with ya on the Ring Dips; pretty taxing!

I fell behind a day because my left elbow was killing me yesterday. I t felt a whole lot better today so i went and completed Linda.

10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 reps of the triplet:

Deadlift: 1 1/2 body weight
Bench press: body weight
Clean: 3/4 body weight

Weights as Rx'd:

DL = 315#
Bench = 210#
Clean = 160#

Scaled to:

10-8-6-4-2-1 reps of triplet:

DL = 225#
BP = 185#
Clean = 95#

Time = 19:53

body weight bench press was easy for me however I tried to deadlift the 315# and for some reason it wasnt happening. I did this workout in the am and ignorantly neglected breakfast. that is what i attributed my weakness to. so i scaled everything back keeping the DLs heavier than my bench. the first set was easy enough to storm through and not stop between reps. the second set however was a different story. for the DL's i split them in half, so 4 and 4 3 and 3 and so on. the bench press was the only exercise that i completed without breaking. the cleans were the worst in that i could only string together 3 at the most.

i was planning to do the filthy fifty after work but my energy levels were just not there.

i see that we have cindy tomorrow. so if things go as planned i'll do the filthy fifty in the am and see cindy in the pm. cant wait!

50 Box jump, 24 inch box
50 Jumping pull-ups
50 Kettlebell swings, 1 pood
Walking Lunge, 50 steps
50 Knees to elbows
50 Push press, 45 pounds
50 Back extensions
2 Thrusters

Time = 23:57

i don't know what it was, but once i finished the back extensions i hit a big wall! i felt like i was gonna die! my head was throbbing and my eyes felt like they were gonna pop out of my head i wanted to do the back ext. last but the thrusters would have been real difficult right after the push presses. i was very disappointed because i was not able to complete the WOD. my body would just not function. it took me a hell of a long time to recover. i still have cindy to do and now diane is waiting for me. i hate making the ladies wait! this will teach me to never fall behind again!

Still a day behind. i have put many of my friends and trainers through this WOD, but have never completed Cindy as Rx'd myself. I have done this triplet to see how fast i could get 15 rounds in. my best time for 15 rounds was 16:24. so coming into todays WOD i figured that i could pull out 18.

Task:

"Cindy"


Complete as many rounds in 20 minutes as you can of:
5 Pull-ups
10 Push-ups
15 Squats

18 rounds in 19:20.

the first 5 rounds my legs were were feeling a lot of pain and lactic acid build up, after the 7th round i was pushing out the squats no problem but then my chest and triceps were greatly fatigued. i greatly appreciate the help from a couple of trainers at my gym that cheered me on and never let me stop until i reached my goal! Shout outs to Jesse and Alex!

figure next time i meet Cindy that i will be able to complete 20 rounds in 20 minutes. love achieving PR's!

Burgener warmup

Warmup:

45# bar x 5
65# x 5
85# x 5
95# x 5
115# x 5

Workout:

135# x 3
155# x 3
165# x 1, miss
165# x 3 (PR)
165# x 2, miss

had to stop because my elbow started to kill. my elbow is fine during the day but once i start working out it begins to give me a lot of trouble. i had a friend of mine record two of my rounds to see how my form was. i think it was pretty strong but i recognized that i was jumping back a little instead of planting my heels right away into the ground. when i learn how to up load videos i will so i can get some feed back as to how i can improve my oly lifts.

decided to skip diane this time around and catch her next time.

we are having a big a snow storm today, forecast says that we will have 30 to 40 cm. i've already been out twice to shovel and i already know that i'll have to go out at least one more time today and maybe tomorrow morning! i look at it as extra strength and conditioning!

Five rounds for max reps of:
Body weight bench press
Pull-ups

Weight = 208#

Bench = 210#
BP = 16, 9, 8, 6, 6 = 45
Pullups (kipping) = 20, 15, 16, 15, 11 = 77

Total = 122 reps

2 to 5 minutes rest between sets.

elbow really killed after the workout! had to ice it and get it massaged. thank God for a day off tomorrow. think i'll do some rowing and see if i can beat my 5k time.

WOW! from being almost a week behind to being a day ahead! lol.
i was thinking before i did the 5k row that it would probably be the next WOD. think i'll run the 5k tomorrow and work on some lifting techniques. my elbow is feeling a little better. we'll see after practicing some muscle-ups lol!
