After tonights wod of deadlifts I decided to do some clean and jerks...I am very new to crossfit and olympic lifting so my numbers are not heavy at all...my questions is after deadlifting I decided to go heavy on the clean and jerk....as I was lifting 130lbs, a weight earlier in the week I dropped as it was too heavy, it came up very easy...it surprised me and I ended up doing 140lbs...I weigh 150 so I was very happy...

Do deadlifts help in the clean and jerk in some indirect way? I am no expert so I am not quite sure how to word the question...I just felt more powerful in the lift from the ground to my shoulders...can someone explain why this is?

Thanks,

Chris
