Wayfair changes almost daily. Wait until they're $125-$135 then grab a 10% coupon. Free shipping.

Re: Bumper plate help.

I'd have to give another vote to Fringe Sports if you want the Troy VTX plates. I've had plates shipped to Hawaii from them and the service was great and the bumpers are outstanding.

Re: Bumper plate help.

David,

We have 10's-35# in black Troy bumpers in stock, with several tons of 45s coming in later this week. We have full stock on Hi-Temps (minus the 35s and 65s, which we don't carry) and full stock on the Troy colored bumpers.

As mentioned, we ship out same-day from our Austin warehouse. We are not one of these "virtual vendors" that are common these days.

Re: Bumper plate help.

Pls let me know when you get more in Alex. I got my bumpers from Alex quickly at a great price and free shipping.

Another reason I enjoy the VTX bumpers is because the width of a 45 is much thinner, so it helps with deadlifting. I can fit 5 VTX 45lb bumpers on a standard Olympic bar vice 4 with Hi Temps etc.

Re: Bumper plate help.

45# bumper plates are back in stock in our Austin warehouse.

As for 10# bumpers vs. 15#- all else equal go with 15#s for more durability. Depending upon your use your mileage may vary.

Re: Bumper plate help.

If you will be doing lifts and dropping the bar with the 15#'ers on their own, then yes, get the 15. Although I have seen the 10's get dropped from overhead and take a beating, and still do fine.

Personally - I'd get the 10's, then pick up either 5lb training plates, or 2 5# iron plates. That would give you a little more loading flexibility.
