This is one you don't want to miss. March 26th. 45 bucks gets your butt kicked over a 26 mile route. Go heavy for pure slaughter(35 1b pack). if you are out west, only 4 hr drive from Tucson, Az. makes it about 11 from San Diego. you can start out easy by doing the 15 mile memorial route. but, hey, we are crossfitters here, eh? go to bataan@wsmr.army.mil. see you there.

Dale,

Thank you for the information. I have a little boy due during that time frame, but doing this would be an honor. As a former Marine (Semper Fi), I can't think of a better way to honor the sacrifices of those men. One of whom is my wife's grandfather, Ted Williams, a former Marine Sergeant and Bataan Death March/ POW camp survivor.

Just talked to my wife, and she may be induced that week. So I am not sure if I can do it, but I will train as if I can, and hope for the best... for both the march and my new baby!!

Michael, congrats on child! remember, this is annual event, there is next year. H. Giovanni, i am also civilian heavy. will be going out day before to secure space in gym. may be some other xfitters there; i vaguely remember some chat about two/three mos ago. bj cooper may be there. some guys i work with will be doing light civilian and one other guy who always goes stealth mode, will be in heavy. as michael said, this is all about paying homage to some ww11 badasses. go rent "the great raid", is new release. read hampton sides "ghost soldiers". and this will be my third time, so if you have not done it and would like to know what i have learned my email is ctchafire6@aol.com.
see you there.

Michael, a big hooyah to your wife's granddad. there really are no words worthy of what Sgt. Williams and his fellows endured, so just thanks.

Their Sacrifice is worth every mention much less our effort to support those that were, are and will be protecting and serving our Country.
God Bless all of them and keep them while in harms way.

Guys, you can call me Gio.

Just wanted to chime in and mention that I'll also be competing in the Bataan this year. I'll be in the Civilian heavy again and hope to see some of the other CrossFitters.

Gio: The first year I did the Heavy category I used an Osprey day pack with 35#. It was very comfortable, but by the end of the race the internal frame was tearing through the outside of the pack. This past year I used a Blackhawk Raptor pack...very heavy duty and designed for military use. Clearly the race and the training take quite a toll on equipment! : )
