Starting For newcomers to the CrossFit methodology

newbie with goals!!

Hi all, i visited my local "box" last week, to see what its all about, and am going to do my RAMP next week.

I do a lot of mountain walking, and have recently started challenge walks which average 25 miles, last weeks timing was 6hrs 43mins.

Now, im 47, and have many goals that i want to achieve. I would love to be in the runners section (fell runners) that take part in these challenge walks. Up to now, running has been a swear word to me

I need to lose 21 lbs, to get to my ideal weight, so hoping this will drop pretty quick.

Anyhow, thought i say hi, am looking forward to joining the community, and reaching my goals.

Welcome to XFit and good luck achieving your goal. I'd recommend starting with short runs on flat ground to build up your legs.

Ideal weight is a myth, as is BMI and all those other measurements. Look for a good Body Fat percentage using a method like the water test - it is the most accurate but htere are other close approximations as well. Weight and BMI don't really matter.
