Deadlift

Hey,

This is a set of 4 of my attempt at a 1x5 at 305lb, my first time at this weight with 5 reps.

I felt like I lost it mentally going in because of the weight, any hows, any critiques would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Oli

Re: Deadlift

There are a few things you have to work on:
It looks like your weight is pretty much in your toes at the setup. Make sure it is back in your heels (you should be able to waggle your toes in the setup position). This is going to enable you to drive through the heels and to generate more power.
Second point to discuss here is that you have the tendency not to open the knees completely before you start to open up the hip. Delete the opening of the hip until the knees are locked out.
Next thing I like to mention is that (especially during the last two or three reps) you drop the weight down by only engaging the shoulders while the hips do not move at all. Remember that as long as the barbell is below your knees (both on the way up and on the way down) your shoulders and your hips should travel at the same speed (because of that you have to correct your setup after this reps).
