1st attempt at "Grace"

This is my first attempt at "grace" I know it isn't great and a DQ due to my lock out position. But I would love to know what I could do to improve on form and time my time was 3:18

Re: 1st attempt at "Grace"

Doesn't your lower back hurt after those? If you cannot do all 30 without putting the bar down, your time would improve a lot if you did actual power cleans and push jerks. I try to think of it as "Jump, Jump, down, down, down." Jump up to clean the weight, Jump when you drive to jerk (slightly, its only 135) and then touch the rack position, the jump position on the clean pull and the ground while trying to keep a flatter back.

From that video it looks like you've never had any decent O-lifting instruction at all. Personally I wouldn't have let you try Grace with an RX'd load until you'd learned to keep your back flat.

take a step back from the benchmarks, turn off the clock, and re-focus on technique and form. OR, you can keep going and seriously injure yourself.

Echoing everyone else. I will make the one caveat here that I am not an oly coach and I've never been to any seminars, however, if I was still coaching track or supervising the weight room for the high school football team, I would never let them do 30 C&J like that.

My back aches in sympathy now.
