Storing your bar

Is there a big value in storing your bar vertically. Is it gonna be an issue just leaving it laying on my squat rack?

This is just for a home use crossfit wods.

Re: Storing your bar

Francis,

I am interested to see the responses you get to this.

I have also heard that storing the bars vertically "drains" the lubricant in the joints over time and that it is actually better for the bar to store it flat. I have plenty of vertical storage for our bars, but have kept them flat for the time being.

Re: Storing your bar

Someone once told me if you store a bar with needle bearings horizontally it will eventually wear them down. I think this might not be a problem with power bars.
