T-shirt idea, is this cheesy?

I've had a billion and a half t-shirt ideas for Motor City Crossfit here Michigan (w/f safe), but now I'm thinking of one I'd finally like to do, but I don't know if it's really cheesy or not.

On the front, something simple, still not 100% sure, probably something like a logo, and 3, 2, 1, GO!

On the back though, the "this may be cheesy" part, pick a benchmark or hero workout that the general public will recognize as tough, and list it on the back, with something like six blank boxes where you can write your PR's in over time (and cross out your old PR's as you beat them).

The one I was originally thinking is "Murph" (because every idiot on the planet can tell that 1 mile run, 100 pullups, 200 pushups, 300 squats, and another 1 mile run, is a friggin' HARD workout). And if you post anything below probably 45 minutes, the average dude on the street is going to think that's incredible, and get interested in checking out Crossfit. Obviously we'd put our website at the bottom of the shirt or something...

Anyone have thoughts?

Re: T-shirt idea, is this cheesy?

I was thinking of this.

A different approach on a similar idea.

Instead of having them put their PR.

Have a couple of different Murph shirts, or other benchmark workout.

Have the back say:

Murph
List the workout
...then on different shirts have under the workout
-as Rx'ed Club
-1 Hour Club
-45 Minute Club
-30 Minute Club

Make each level of shirt something that is earned, not sold.

This can be done with others, look at what ever workout is popular in your Affiliate:

Cindy:
-15 Round Club
-20 Round Club
-25 Round Club

People will wear these shirts with pride, because they need to be earned.

The best workout for shocking the general public is probably Linda. I'm thinking three boxes with sillhouettes of each of the three movements on the top of the back and then listing the workout and benchmark times below it.

That's my view of shirts like that. YMMV

Neil, Great Idea! I was thinking of something similar but I like your idea better.

Aaron,

Our CFers earn every rep so I don't think it's about ego but accomplishment.
Just my opinion FWIW

Re: T-shirt idea, is this cheesy?

Aaron, I agree... to a point.

This thread alludes to the fact that this is somewhat Cheesy.

But some of these times are a huge accomplishment for many Crossfitters. Also realize the idea is that the shirt is earned, not purchased.

As an Affiliate owner, I would be giving these away to those that have earned them. Wear it, Frame it, Wash their car with it...They earned it they can do what they want with it.

Plus with an avatar like yours, you don't seem too afraid of being a little cheesy.

Tom: My licensing fee for the idea is very reasonable. Actually, If you make some I would love to see one. (send pictures)

I have been approved for affiliation and getting all my necessities together, but I have at least another month before I will have time to look at some of the fun things like shirts.
