Any discounts on weightlifting equipment for non-profit(public schools)

Looking to upgrade my school's weightlifting equipment on a budget. Really need 2-3 barbells(considering the cap 1200lb at this point) and bumper plates(wright rubber crumb I got a quote for 400lb at $550). Wanted to see if there was any other vendors that discount towards schools.

Why buy new?

Rubber plates have little wear and tear as long as the collar is steel and cobonded. Buy second hand, there's always a set floating around.

Barbells, especially bought for home use, can be the same. I'd buy plates unseen if I knew the brand, and the seller agreed to conditions of no deformities, and no spinning or deformed collars. Barbells, you'll want to see it, but many come out looking fine from a year or two in a home garage.

You'll save 20% +-

you're 650 miles apart, From my experience, if there's no real time pressure, you can organised a back load for $100 cash. As long as you help pack and unload.

It's amazing what can be accomplished simply by calling vendors/manufacturers. Know exactly what you want and start calling and price shopping.

Wish I could, but my work schedule right now prevents me from doing it. I refuse to buy regular olympic bars second hand because its like playing Russian Roulette. Already had the bars donated to us separate at the collars under moderate usage.

Reach out to the name brands... They have financing/leasing options. For schools the interest is next to nothing.. If your school is willing. Good luck with those financial hoops.(but it can be done)
