I've been looking into opening my own box, can anyone give me any information on the startup cost?

Re: Affiliate startup?
Hey Casey, there's really no right answer to this but I will say to start an affiliate your bare minimum will cost about 5k. 1k level 1 cert, 3k affiliation fee, 1k insurance and starting the business. This will get you no space, and no equipment. Watch these videos to get a better understanding though. WFS http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...affiliate&sm=1
I'm starting out of my garage and I'd say I'm going to be around 8k total and plan to handle 6 people classes. So really the price can be anywhere between 5k with a bunch of wods in the park to 100k + for the best of the best. Why don't you share your plans? |

Re: Affiliate startup?
I appreciate the help. I've already received my level 1 and I haven't gone through Crossfit yet to even see if I can start an affiliate. I've been trying to do some research just to get as many possibilities as I can. I have Cherokee Tribal blood in me, and Cherokee Nation is willing to help. I know in the beginning it'll be slow going, but my goal is having 40+ members. Start out by myself till the classes get to much for me to handle alone.

Re: Affiliate startup?
Hi Casey,
great idea to start out slow and grow your box as you grow your coaching and membership. My first affiliate was started for just under 10k and that covered us until I hit 80 members. Sometimes I had to get pretty creative though =) Like Mike said though, the sky's the limit as a start up. my current affiliate, www.AlchemyCrossFit.com WFS has more than 100k in equipment and misc gear. But that handles 100+ people through the door every day 6 days a week (Sundays are slow only about 40). The key thing in my experience is to get the best gear you can afford, it's cheaper int he long run. All the best! Adam |

Re: Affiliate startup?
I've thought about going through Rogue, what are some other good brands that offer box kits. I'd like to buy a set instead of trying to mismatch all sorts of equipment.

If I were you I'd put it together yourself or email them and get specifics. You really dont save a lot on a "package" and you get some things you really wont even want. I'd slow down though if I were you. Get everything else in order before you worry about the equipment. That can be done in a weeks time. |

Re: Affiliate startup?
I agree. I'm not ordering anything yet, I'm just trying to get my plan together and I figured it wouldn't help to get some ideas before I started.

All of our equipment is from here, http://www.muscledriverusa.com/
I sold off all my cheap equipment to other affiliates. |
