Re: Murph Tactics

49:37 RX wearing a 10kg/22lb vest

Broken into 5/10/15 worked fine, first half of the second run was mega slow but for me that's gonna be the case even if I front load the squats so probably stick to that

Another possibility is just individual judgment, I suppose. When I think of scaling Murph, the first thing that I think is "full reps, no vest," not "scaled reps, with vest." Maybe there's something in my psyche that causes me to think that "full reps / no vest" is closer to full Murph than "scaled reps, with vest." I have no idea if that's actually true.

Re: Murph Tactics

Did my first Murph 2 months ago strict (no vest) 100 pullups before I could start my pushups, then finish pushups before starting the squats, 55:03. Just did it this past Memorial Day - broke it into 5 pushups - 10 pullups - 20 squats (for the first 15 rounds) then just 5 pushups - 10 pullups for the last 5 rounds. I finished at 38:39. Gonna give the body armor a go next time for ya Murph.

Re: Murph Tactics

We did Murph on Memorial Day. I suck at running. 9 minutes for the first mile at a nice easy pace. I was thinking I could do 20-40-60 and then I would be done in 5 rounds. I did 1 round like that and realized there was no way to hold on to that pace. So I did 8 more rounds at 10-20-30 which was not too hard. 2nd mile was 9 minutes, and I finished at 32:40.

Next year will be with a vest and will be 20 rounds of 5-10-15.

Re: Murph Tactics

That's a pretty fast time for 18 minutes worth of running.
