Weekly linear progression strength program?

I'm currently doing SS, but I'm going to be doing MMA training during the week so I won't be able to keep up with 3x/week lifting. Are there any similar (and obviously slower) programs that I might be able to do just once a week? I'd like to continue my progress with my lifts. I'm tempted to just do a "Workout A" weekly and progress on squats/presses/DLs.

Thanks for any input.

I'm looking for a one day a week program -- aren't most of those daily WOD based? (Except Gant's, which is still a daily program.)

Certainly not fast, but I'm training in a less strength related capacity all week long. Do you really think it's not possible to make gains working certain exercises once a week? I mean, if I just added 5LB to my BS each week it'd still be slow steady progression.

Perhaps, Ryan, but Jamie is pretty spot on with his analysis here.

Re: Weekly linear progression strength program?

No worries, if this is something that no one really tries often I'll go ahead and try it and let y'all know how it goes after a few months. If in six months I added 125+ to my 5RM on my BS and got it over 400 I'd be more than happy.

Thanks anyway.

By the way, if you think I'll actually LOSE strength between workouts I'd be curious to hear about it.

Re: Weekly linear progression strength program?

I think you can maintain your strength on that schedule

Tell us your schedule, maybe we can think of a program that will fit in to it.
