Linda--Squat Clean or Power Clean?

I've always done squat cleans as I was told that is what is considered rx'd. Then today I check out logsitall and see that the guy with the fastest time completed this workout in 14 minutes and change, which makes me think that there is no way this guy is doing Linda with full squat cleans and getting that fast of a time.

What are your thoughts on this?

I saw that time too, pretty insane.

It's about how much effort you want to put into it.

Squat cleans is the way to go for a real Linda. There's a feeling of satisfaction when you achieve it, don't you think ?

Re: Linda--Squat Clean or Power Clean?

At the end of the day the most important thing is doing it consistently. My fastest time on (non Rx'd) Linda was 24 and change. That was shortly after starting CrossFit when I didn't know how to do a squat clean. Today my time was a bit over 30. Comparing the two is worthless, just as comparing my time today with someone else's who did power cleans would be worthless.

Do it however you want. Just go hard! It is a pretty different workout depending on which type of cleans you do.

Virtuosity...
I take it if it's posted as cleans, then from the floor recieve in full squat, stand with full extension...unless otherwise stated.
That way I am getting the best workout and not so concerned with others times.

Yes. That's true for everything except Grace.

I think it's likley some of the faster times were done using power cleans, but "as rx'd" is definately full cleans. Note OPT (#214) in the comments section, 13:05 and specifically calls out full cleans. From just about anyone else I wouldn't believe it, but I've seen enough of his videos....

Re: Linda--Squat Clean or Power Clean?

What Brandon said. Full squat cleans are as rx'd.

It's your WOD though, so ultimately your choice. They are two different movements, however.
