Re: East Coast CF Challenge

Thanks all! If I dont get up there, please have fun without me!! I am still a bit uncomfortable so I am not sure about 2+hrs driving each way and then return with the traffic
Here's an update:
So the good news is, there is no hernia. The discomfort comes from the fact that the surgeon had to do a little procedure. He saw the swelling, did a clinical exam which included me doing some crunches and coughing while he palpated the area.

He determined that a stitch or so had come lose from my prior surgery 14 months ago He gave me a shot of Novocaine in the area and went in to fetch it and drain the swelling. In the end, I needed a second shot of the numbing agent and the doc found two lose stitches. He said that should be that. His disposition was not the best. I had asked him several times to please explain what he was doing and I did moan some when he was doing it. He asked me (with an attitude) if I want him to stop and we can schedule it for the OR!! I only asked him to explain WTH?? Some doctors really think they are gods.

So it is uncomfortable but I am cleared to go back to my normal routine. I think i will wait til next week though! I am also opting to continue the antibiotics as I feel it may be a worthy preventitive measure since what was done was preventative. And last year I did get a staph infection somehow post-op!

Re: East Coast CF Challenge

IT sounds like you should go to a different doctor. There is no reason to have such terrible bedside manner.

Look for pictures and videos of the weekends events to be added periodically on our site.

Some of the pictures are loading HUGE and aren't re-sizable in windows that don't have scrollbars. You might want to make them smaller, or change your popup script to allow scrollbars.

Where was the person filming that deadlift from? 525#. awesome. I am looking forward to the results and more videos and pictures.

Re: East Coast CF Challenge

Just want to say thank you to all the competitors for such great spirit during the ACF East Coast Challenge. You're a great group of people and I enjoyed every minute of your visit with us at Albany Crossfit.

Thank you, too, to the wonderful food crew: Diana, Dona, Camille and my hubby Michael for keeping everybody fed and watered through the event.

Jess Dunn and Brett Andrus worked their Crossfit butts off during the CFT and Hopper events.

It was just a really fun and exciting weekend!

Now I'm going to take a nap for time.

Susie

Re: East Coast CF Challenge

Serena, I'm glad it wasn't a hernia. Sorry to hear the doctor was a "d--ktor". Refuah Shelayma.
Congrats to all of you to participated in the challange, and to those of you angels who ran it.
I caught the last part of it today. Everybody looked strong and determined.
Got a myofacial release massage today from Heidi. She's wonderful!

Correction: Sarena, I apologize for misspelling your name. Must be my ADHD showing up.
