Some video I took from a few weeks ago, Josh Everett's 6 lifts. I do not remember what he totaled, around 275kg maybe?

Nice! You don't see many people using the split-snatch/split-clean. What were the weights at the top-end of both lifts?

On the last snatch, Josh's knee touches the floor - Is this a good lift?

No.

His back knee touched and he also pressed out with his right elbow. Either one of which should have DQ'd the lift.

I don't know about this meet, but Josh is in the neighborhood of 120kg snatch/155kg clean & jerk.

Brian,
In weightlifting the only things allowed to touch the platform is the bottom of the feet, any thing else is a DQ. the judges missed it along with what appers to be a pressout on the right elbow. Had there been instant replay I'm sure it would not have passed. I'll take it though as I was credited with 117 sn & 153 c&j giving me the 270 total i needed to qualify for the national championships in Aug. up until this meet my oly-lifts had been going pretty poorly, since this meet I've had some really good training sessions. Looking at these tapes i have a few things to be working on.

Josh, I'm the last person to turn to for weightlifting technique, but it seems like your back could stand to be a little more tightly arched in the starting position for your pull. Is this intentional and I don't know what I'm talking about, as I expect, or is that a technique flaw?

Russ:
Yes the back rounds out which is bad, also on the snatches my hips are too high thru the 1st pull, and i didn't look close but more than likely my arms bend too soon on my snatches & cleans. On my jerks I tend to dip a little bit forward. I do allot of things wrong but a few years after college i started missing the thrill of competing and choose to give wt lifting a shot. I'm having allot of fun.
Anthony: I'm 5'9" and 180-185lbs
