Memorial Day Murph

Happy Memorial Day to all.

Did Memorial Day Murph today in Afghanistan. I think it's a good tradition. A hero WOD on Memorial Day

Cheers!

CPT Tim from Afghanistan.

Re: Memorial Day Murph

Our box is doing it at 9am, and so are most of the other boxes in our area. The least we can do is suffer a bit in appreciation of our vets and soldiers!

Re: Memorial Day Murph

We're getting together at our box (www.crossfitdewitt.com) to do it at 12:30 with a cookout to follow.

Er, or are they referring to the WOD as a "cookout?"

Re: Memorial Day Murph

Not nearly fit enough to do Murph today + it's a restday for me... but I love the tradition!

Re: Memorial Day Murph

Had a few drinks last night after two workouts. Got up early, hit the gym and didn't feel too good doing Murph in 61:50 with 20# vest, boots, pants. My own damn fault.

I never knew LT Murphy but JT was a helluva guy, Luttrell too. Good times. Good tradition.

Re: Memorial Day Murph

we wound up doing it at our box (CrossFit Sweat Springfield, VA) as a 2-person team, heat index was 105 and the air quality was crap!!!! I actually enjoyed doing it with a partner, not because it made it easier, but it reinforced the camaraderie aspect of a Hero WOD.
