I had one of those funny, signature CF moments in the locker room today before my work-out, and the thread about the grunting prompted me to share. One of my business partners had just finished and we were discussing another partner who was going to the Ohio State-Michigan game today. We have an employee who's daughter was selling tickets for $800 a pop. I offered the opinion that paying that much money for a ticket was akin to bringing a $250 bottle of wine to a party--there's no challenge to the hunt for value in either.

An older gentleman changeing in the same row spoke up. He said "I agree with you about both the game and the wine. But I have to tell you, I don't agree with your grunting! I made a living repairing the hernias on people like you."

After politely thanking him for his concern and promising to be careful my partner and I ran to the farthest corner of the locker room so we wouldn't offend him when we started laughing:lol: I then proceeded to do "Diane" with the most DL weight I'd ever attempted.

No hernia, but I DID see a friend's daughter jump on one particularly enthusiastic grunt...

Well, I did go to the game, and spent a good deal more than that on my tickets. But in my defense I haven't spent more than $3 on a bottle of wine since Trader Joes came to my area...

On the topic grunting, I was interrupted ~ halfway through the recent 30 Muscle Ups WOD by a concerned neighbor knocking on my garage door. Poor guy though someone was being tortured in there. He'll never know how correct he was.

I train a heart surgeon three times a week.
He comes in nice and quiet, then attacks the workout; then puts on his "disguise" and calmly leaves for the O.R.
He asks for more weight on his lifts regularly.
Was that a grunt I heard?

Grunting is the music to my ears down at Progression Fitness. That's and the retching sound made sometimes -- grab the garbage pail!
