Re: Best jump rope for competitions?

May as well advise Jump N Rope, from Molly Metz. She created the dual bearing system for these new speed ropes, right?

Jump N Rope (WFS)

Re: Best jump rope for competitions?

i am not a competitor and actually,i suck pretty bad at DU. with that said, i have been looking for a good rope to get better and during my pursuit, i have tried the following: AF Rev, Rogue SR-1, Rope RX and a few other ones. the ones that i settled with and love the most is the JumpNRope R1. this rope is super fast, smooth and is very consistent.

Link is WFS. The surge jump rope. Handles spin really well and the cable is the perfect weight.

By far my favorite

I want something light, quick, spins well, and is cheaper than $20... I feel like that price is a racket for a tiny piece of plastic with a cord. I don't get it.

I'd check out these jump ropes -WFS- before dropping $25 on a rope imho.
We bought 24 of these for use at my affiliate.

They are the worst ropes we've ever bought. The handles constantly come undone, the metal "rope" is easily bent and retains the new shape, the spin was inconsistent, and the handles crack easily.

We've since thrown them all out.

Spend $20 and get a good rope.

The Rogue SR-1 is my personal favorite, but like all things, find the rope that works for you.

Re: Best jump rope for competitions?

This is a nice rope: http://rpmrope.com/ (wfs)

I have so many jump ropes (I think 7 or 8 different types), and this one is stupid fast. Feels great, double unders are a breeze with it for me. A bit spendy but the handles are machined aluminum with a nice knurl to them. Won't slip out of those sweaty hands.

Re: Best jump rope for competitions?

My box has a number of different brands/types of ropes but my favorite by far is the Again Faster revolution X rope. I will probably end up buying one but having a hard time paying $30 for it. I am intrigued by the rpmrope. Would love to try one before buying.

This rope is made by JumpNRope. I taped my handles to increase grip.

FYI, their rope progress (beaded > Trainer > Speed) sent me from 56 UB DUs to 170 in 3 months. 500 Double unders for time in 8:30 ish so definitely worth it.
