Cool How am I doing?

Starting my third week on Paleo and just learning. How is my eating?

Today I got up at 7:30 and wasn't at all hungry. I held off until 1200 when I had approx. 6 oz veal, spinach leafs, one boiled eff, celery, tsp of avocado, tsp of olive oil, and lemon juice in a salad. At 3:00 I had 1 oz of raw almonds/walnuts and a medium apple. It's almost 6:00 and being that I'm at work late tonight I've opted for a Chili's burger minus the buns with lettuce, onions, tomato, avocado and a side of steamed broccoli. I've also had about 4-5 bottles of water today and feel well with a headache or extreme hunger.

Re: How am I doing?

As to how you are doing, that is relative. How do you feel? How is your performance?

Why hold off until 12? Skipping breakfast is bad.

Re: How am I doing?

In another thread she mentioned something about being tired of eating eggs for breakfast all the time, so I suggested a few different ways to approach breakfast and said she could consider IFing provided she makes up the calories throughout the rest of the day.

Re: How am I doing?

I feel good. I'm not tired, I feel like I'm doing well on WOD, and I don't feel deprived of food. I've weighed myself and I'm only down 3 lbs but I know that when I started I was over doing the nut and fruit consumption. As for no breakfast..when I woke up I wasn't at all hungry and didn't feel the need to eat just because it was breakfast time. I'm working until midnight tonight so my eating pattern is a bit thrown off I suppose. I thought I would have lost more weight after cutting out bread, diet sodas, and processed foods. Maybe I'm too anxious.

Weight is a very small piece of the puzzle and won't always give you accurate feedback. If you're new to training and eating right it's very likely you'll be burning fat and adding muscle so your weight may stay pretty constant even though your body composition is improving. Pay attention to how your clothes fit and what the mirror tells you.

Not necessarily. I workout in the mornings and i usually IF for about 13-14 hrs. Not eating breakfast has not affected my training and I actually feel more energized working out while fasted than I do if I would have eaten breakfast.

I understand IF and have no problems with it. However, one shouldn't skimp on meals during your 'eating hours', right?

Correct, which is why I told her to make sure she gets her calories one way or another if she does decide to go the IF route.
