Re: Albany CrossFit Workout Log

Today's WOD felt like the hardest one I've ever done. Thought I'd puke and/or pass out. It was dark, so nobody would see me on the floor to even draw a chalk line. Music in the next room, nobody would hear me yell. Bumper weights are slipping off the side of the "gag bar", and the bench for box jumps was unstable. Total goof on me today. 11th element of fitness: adaptability to the unexpected and goofey.

Re: Albany CrossFit Workout Log

I planned on coming tonight but I don't have any clothes, the electricity has been out since midnight Thursday. If class was in the third court, showing up in just undies is OK, but I didn't want to push my luck in the regular courts. . I will do my best to get in tomorrow, trust me when I say I'd rather be at the gym than cooped up around a fire.

Good call, George. Jay is eager to lend out his workout pants though. It's important to workout with clothes on. It's humiliating when I has to ask Jay to put on my shirt if he has to take me to the hospital.

Feel better, Fred.
I forgot to mention my time for today's WOD: 27:45. Gee! Under 30!

Lenora, that line was a classic..."Jay, if I go to the hospital can you put my shirt back on?"

Re: Albany CrossFit Workout Log

Hello Everyone,

This was my 1st day back in a bit, and although halfway through the workout I started to get frustrated and upset, Jay reminded me of the goal I wrote on the board of not getting pi*&y, and I sucked it up and finished in 18:32. SDHP i was only using 35lb and I still don't think it's physically possible for me to do a real box jump, but I worked hard nonetheless. I am not the person who comes into Crossfit to try to become an elite athlete, I come b/c I know I will have an a$# kicking work out even if I scale it to my abilities... Lenora, I was totally with you tonight though, i thought for sure I was going to make it in Pukie's corner. I am excited to be back though, my schedule is fairly open this week and my back is feeling better so I am going to be in as much as possible. I really missed that feeling when you're almost done with the WOD, telling yourself, just one more round and you're done, and then finishing thinking wow, I did it again. I didn't quit. Go me. lol

Fred, sorry to hear your not feeling well. Thanks for all you do though, I and everyone else appreciates the work you do.

Jen G and Andrea D., I haven't seen you ladies much in the last couple of weeks and you both look fantastic, keep up the good work.

See y'all tomorrow.

Re: Albany CrossFit Workout Log

Chiara -- I'm with you.. I went into this AM feeling awfully whiney... and it's my personal goal not to do that... I even felt tears welling up right before the workout... my definite sign that I'm feeling frustrated and full of "I Can'ts"... but the group enthusiasm, as always, powered me thru..

I think I did 6 rds + 4 Hang Cleans in the AMRAP 20.
My thought for the day is that ACF is all about small wins. My win today was feeling strong in the Kick UP Handstand 1/2 of the Inverted Burpees... AND... that my regular burpees are actually LOOKING like burpees... it's probably a TINY win... but a win none the less....

See y'all tomorrow...

YAY for burpees that look like burpees, that's a BIG win in MY book!

Re: Albany CrossFit Workout Log

I should have written "BEGINNING TO LOOK LIKE BURPEES"... but I'll take it whatever way I can get it... Thanks for the support, Chiara...
