I modified the tabata workout yesterday to include a full 16mins of tabata squats:

15 squats / interval +20 at the end = 500 squats in 16:20.

Has anyone done 1000 in a single effort / continous intervals? How long?

I'll rest for a few days, try it, and post...

I did 700 once and it wasn't that bad. Bodyweight squats for high reps are surprisingly easy if you go at a slow and constant pace and stay below the lactate threshold. What worked for me was about 30 a minute. If you put them into intervals or do them quickly they certainly get difficult though.
