Coming Back from a Bad Weekend of Eating

Hi all,

Been away this weekend and basically havent been in a good position to keep the normal paleo meal plans going. So have been eating whatever i want really.

Looking to minimize the damage i guess? Only thing i can think of is to get some probiotics and do some heavy strength work.

Would appreciate any hints anyone else might have.

Cheers,

Brook

Goodness gracious. It's not as if you've taken poison all weekend. You went a bit off the food map. That's all.

Pick up tomorrow and eat what you should eat. I wouldn't even bother with the probiotics. They won't undo what you have eaten.

Yeah, not much to do. only thing I tend to change is I force myself to drink more water than usual to flush stuff out of my system.

Brook, those 2 days of "cheating" isnt going to make you fat, and it isnt going to make all your lifts suffer or your pullups harder. If anything, those extra calories probably helped your recovery a little since youre likely to be under-eating as it is. Relax!

Re: Coming Back from a Bad Weekend of Eating

The fact that you have even posted this is an indication that paleo is not right for you. Its not a 'diet' its a way of life. Just like not eating pork or drinking alcohol for some people. Might as well just give up on the paleo approach and look for something sensible that you can adhere to. Paleo is not for everyone and shouldn't be. Why should you feel guilty just for eating some types of food and now come to a public message board for advice to 'minimize the damage'. What damage? This sounds like an indication of an eating disorder and if your feelings about eating food are this strong you may want to consider getting some professional assistance. Just my advice.

I agree with everyone, its not the end of the world.
With that said, I know how you feel though. It happens to me quite a bit, you fall off over the weekend and Monday you feel disgusting. I usually will fast part of Monday and/or replace some meals with nutritious shakes (full of fruits, greens, etc). I'm certainly no expert but I feel like it helps.

I think you have taken me out of context there Jeremy. Appreciate the feedback tho

Was just looking for a way to minimize damage so to speak.
