Every once in a while I run into terms on this board that I still don't understand (partly due to crossfit ignorance, partly due to computer ignorance) so what does "planche" and "avatar" mean?

I have another...I am new to this and keep seeing things like "XXX for time", etc.

I did some searching before asking this, but can't find anything on it. Can someone give this Noob a basic rundown on the exercise measurement terms?

For time just means you are timing yourself.
For reps means you are trying to do as many reps as possible.
For load means you're going as heavy as possible (Snatch 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 is one of these).
