(work safe)

Read this article a bit earlier. It reminds me of Rob Faigin's Natural Hormonal Enhancement diet. Both of these basically recommend a certain period of time where you are "dieting" (whether it be low carb or low calorie) and then a day or a meal where you "cheat".

I've reached my ideal body composition with consistantly doing mostly paleo zone (except for the occasional cheese or peanut butter). My question is, do these "cheat" diets work? Are they better for you than strict zone where you are pretty much constantly in a calorie restricted state? Both claim to cite scientific research supporting the efficacy of their diets.

Perhaps these diets are a version of IF? Any thoughts?

Re: "Cheat to Lose Diet"

I dunno, but over the last two months or so I'm down between 4 and 6 lbs (now 5' 9" 160lb bw) following mostly zone, and eating a BIG bowl of Breyers every single night about 20-30 minutes before I go to bed. Seriously. I can't explain it. The only thing I can think of is I keep a constant supply of fuel (including fat) in my stomach, and my body got used to there being energy always available, so it's not afraid to burn fat when it's needed.
