DOMS and colds?

I'm noticing a slightly disturbing trend: whenever I do a WOD that is sure to result in some heavy DOMS (lots of body weight/low weight reps), I almost always wake up the next day with the DOMS and minor cold symptoms (stuffy nose, sore throat, etc).

Has anyone else noticed this? The only thing I can think is that it's similar to getting an intense massage where toxins are released from the muscles (a theory I'm skeptical of anyway). Nutrition seems solid, I'm drinking lots of water and getting sleep, so it's a little discouraging. Any help would be great.

Re: DOMS and colds?

Sigh.

Working out beats down your immune system. When you damage your muscles your immune system has to come in and clean up the damage, which diverts it away from noramlly destroying a lot of other microorganisms especially those that get into your upper respiratory tract

THUS, you dont want to go hard all the time to let your body recover. Take a few more rest days.

Also, supplement vitamin D wfs

Ideally you DONT want DOMS because it doesnt signify a good workout or progress so as long as you're improving avoid DOMS as much as possible.
