Female breasts and shrinkage

After crossfitting for 4 years I thought that my breasts were done shrinking. Apparently, the shrinking is picking back up again. As I overcome successive plateaus and continue to achieve gains, my chest area becomes stronger, and my breasts lose fat. No mystery as to why, but I'm concerned that at some point, I will have almost no fat left there...which is a negative to me - and as a petite female, I did not start out with an overabundance to begin with.

Does anyone know of any reasonable remedies to counteract breasts shrinking?
Rather than assume no, I am asking the one place who should have an answer! Not lifting is obviously not a good solution (for me at least).

If no remedies come of this thread, perhaps there are other women with whom I can commiserate , or men who can chime in with their thoughts on the subject.

All I know is there are remarkable advances in the field of cosmetic surgery...
But I understand if that is not your cup o' tea.

The natural remedy of course, is pregnancy!

What has been the overall change in your bodyfat lately? Not that I have personal experience with your particular situation, but my guess is that if your bodyfat has dropped into the 10-12% range that wouldn't help the cause...or be good for health and performance in general.

pretty much ^^^That^^^

Actually I thought mine were too big during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. I know that if I ever choose the plastic surgery route, I never want to go porn star huge.

^^And this is almost impossible.

But yeah. It's a pretty universal truth that they are the first thing to go. If you could spot reduce fat every guy would have a 6 pack and girls a nice rack. It's basically either gain weight, get surgery, or buy some good bra's to false advertise. Posture and dress can help a bit as well.

Cue: chest up, lumbar arched, smile big.

I don't have a solution for you, but I completely understand. I just had to buy new bras and accidently put on an older one the other day and it was somewhat depressing.

Join the club....the best consolation is the fact that you're probably in the best health of your life.

Re: Female breasts and shrinkage

I feel ya sister. I was never large to begin with, and the shrinkage I experienced was almost enough to make me seriously consider getting a job. But then when I thought about having to NOT Crossfit for like 8 weeks while I heal, that made me even more depressed

This is one reason I won't get a job done either. I'd rather have a smaller chest and be able to do a WOD then sit on the sidelines and wait 8 weeks. Just thinking of not being able to CF for that long drives me batty

Re: Female breasts and shrinkage

Believe it or not, many men like small breasts. They do have their advantages, namely that they 'stand up' and don't sag. To each his or her own. Just don't let popular culture dictate acceptable breast size.
