my question would be how do you use the graph?

if you enter all of your workouts won't the chart be all over the place? the workouts we do are so varied.. say you do a 5K at 23:00 and the next day a 6 minute Fran.. just not sure what conclusion you would draw from that.

regardless, i'm going to start using this. very nice..
upon further review I see that the chart logs total time by week. so, you see how much time you were "on the clock" I guess? Still a little fuzzy on how you would read it for feedback, but I get it now.

as an analyst who spends most of his workday in excel, I'm in heaven.

thanks

Re: Excel CrossFit WOD Log v0.3

I am an excel newbie and a crossfit newbie. But I named the workout names as "Girls" and created a drop down list under workouts in the Training Log sheet so I could just drop down and select whatever workout I wanted. You did a great job on this worksheet

Edit: I should read, someone did this above.

Has anyone ever used this spreadsheet through Google Spreadsheets? Just wondering cause it would make it easier to keep track of if you can get it from anywhere with internet.

I would probably add a new table/list of all the named workouts that you could add to as necessary for the drop down list.

You could also add cell protection password and then put the password in a cell for users that would want to modify the log. But having a password would prevent people who are less excel savvy from really messing the spreadsheet up (like your graphs).
Great suggestion, will add to next revision.

Many thanks,

Al

Re: Excel CrossFit WOD Log v0.3

Brilliant design, I think this is a must for anyone new to crossfit.
Makes it a lot easier to monitor and record performance.

This has got me thinking, Considering that I am doing a STAT subject, I think it would be really interesting to see some compiled statistics for all of the workouts.

I think bell curves would be really useful in comparing your performance quickly to the averages.

Not saying that I am gonig to do it, but if any statisticians out there would like to attempt it, Kudos in advance, thats a massive endeavour

Re: Excel CrossFit WOD Log v0.3

OOPS! I just figured out how to update the dates. I'm such an idiot!

------------------------

So...because I can be a bit lazy with computers since I work with them all day...Are you going to update the date/day for 2009? Pretty Please. Also...The Max Lbs column under the Training Log tab...What does that indicate? The total weight lifted that day or just the max load for that day?

Thank you so much for this spreadsheet! It is great.

I use Google Spreadsheets along with Google Calendar to keep track of my WOD's and they both work well.

Re: Excel CrossFit WOD Log v0.3

This looks like an excellent workout log.
I do have a quick question; I'm using OpenOffice to view this Excel document, but I cannot figure out how to change the Dates in column "A" for the new year.
Any help greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

Michael
