Excel Training Log - Feedback Welcome

Hello CF Community:

I had some free time so I decided to build an Excel-based training log. It's based on the concept of logging the primary WOD each day with health data like weight, BF, and resting HR, which may not suit all users.

I thought I'd make it available for the community to provide feedback, and use if they find it helpful. As I get suggestions, I will try to incorporate them into updated versions.

Please consider this a beta version. Also note this one has some "fake sample data" in it so that you might get an idea of use for different types or WODs. Feel free to try it out and post your comments.

Al

Excel CrossFit WOD Log v0.3

I've made some small changes to the Excel workout log originally posted at http://board.crossfit.com/showthread.php?t=29139.

As always, feedback and suggestions welcome.

Very cool! I'm going to start using it today...I'll have to enter in all my scores that are written on a wall stud in the basement...

Re: Excel CrossFit WOD Log v0.3

Suggestion - Drop down lists for the named workouts

Go to Data - validation - settings - Allow:List with "in-cell dropdown" box checked

I would probably add a new table/list of all the named workouts that you could add to as necessary for the drop down list.

You could also add cell protection password and then put the password in a cell for users that would want to modify the log. But having a password would prevent people who are less excel savvy from really messing the spreadsheet up (like your graphs).

Re: Excel CrossFit WOD Log v0.3

very cool.. obviously put a lot of time in.

my question would be how do you use the graph?

if you enter all of your workouts won't the chart be all over the place? the workouts we do are so varied.. say you do a 5K at 23:00 and the next day a 6 minute Fran.. just not sure what conclusion you would draw from that.

regardless, i'm going to start using this. very nice..
