Crushed calf?

Question -- during a football game on Sunday I made a tackle where I went down on one knee which is now badly bruised but I think someone stepped on the back of my calf (with cleats) on the opposite leg when the tackle happened and now it feels like my calf is in one giant knot which is making dorsiflexion very painful and my calf is not yet visibly bruised but very painful to the touch. Anyone have any experience with this and have any advice on how I might heal this? I've been massaging it, mfsr and advil, but nothing really seems to be helping. The calf again is very painful to the touch, more so about 3 inches under the back of the knee.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Re: Crushed calf?

Most likely just strained, keep moving as much as possible, Ice frequently, and elevate. If no improvement a week from injury get it checked out.
