o.k.- so i think i just did one, but i'm not really sure if the way i did it counts?! after reading the previous post about it being much easier on a bar i HAD to do one.

i ended up actually using a door. instead of grabbing the top of the door with my hands, i laid the heels of my hands on the top of the door (i guess this is the false grip described in previous posts?). i pulled myself up like a regular pull-up, and continued up through a dip. i really didn't kick or flail at all, mostly because i couldn't because of the door being directly in front of me. my hands were pretty close together (like mentioned previously about nipple width.) once i started past the pull-up i actually favored one side to get myself up and then finished with both arms equally. the whole thing took probably two seconds.

so what's the verdict? when i go to the gym tomorrow i'll try it on the pull-up bar.

Scott, That is what the muscle up is all about - getting on top of things, so yeah you used the m-up technique to get on top of the door.

I still think the rings are a different story though. You are on a very unstable surface and the ring dip is tough for most.
