BAD cramps in feet at night

Happens mostly when i go to bed.

Any ideas on what could be causing this (dehydration?)/what I can do to avoid it?

Thx

Re: BAD cramps in feet at night

I was listening to a radio show where people were swearing by yellow mustard as a treatment for cramps. Several cyclists would carry packs of yellow mustard during races and take them to treat cramps. If they get a leg cramp, they down a pack or two of yellow mustard. Also an elderly gentleman swore by the same treatment to avoid severe nighttime leg cramps.

Not sure what causes cramps and why yellow mustard would be a treatment, but if it helps, that could be an easy work around until you find the cause.
I've been waiting to try it out myself. Fortunately I haven't had a reason.

I'm guessing the yellow mustard is just a way to get salt into your system so that you retain water. Runners actually eat salt packs.

Usually muscle cramps are due to dehydration.

Make sure you're hydrated and getting correct amounts of minerals. Magnesium is a big one people are deficient in.
