Can hyperextensions cause back pain?

I did these at the end of the lunge/burpee workout to get a bit of lower back work in. And I don't think I came up to far when doing them. Today it hurts like crazy when I am lying down, sitting, or even just walking around. Not sure though if it may be muscular pain and I am just not used to it in that specific area or not.

Anyway, just wondering thanks.

Yes. Make sure you keep your back flat while doing them.

Get some massage for it. Deadlifts in particular make them tight and sore too.

Hi Steven,

Thanks for this information. I probably arch my back too much, but thankfully, have not experienced any pain or real soreness from the back extensions.

I also read your post on constructing workouts. Thanks for this valuable information. I'm still quite new to CF (just over four months) and am amazed by all that's out there to learn.
