Re: Recommended barbell in Australia

Is that the same one you guys ordered?

Hey Paul,

As I read your post, I'm digging into my biltong :stir:. Biltong is more than twice the price per kilo than bumper plates! Unbelievable. Not sure about sending you some biltong, but can do the next best thing and give you a link as to how to make it yourself. www.biltongbox.com/biltong.html (wfs). Great way to get your protein intake for Zone. . Hope this helps..

Re: Recommended barbell in Australia

Hey guys, anyone had any experience with Muscle Motion products? Particularly their power racks?

Hoping to pick up one of these: http://www.gymandfitness.com.au/musc...ack-p-246.html (wfs)

If you have, or know someone that has used there products, especially their power rack, let me know how it was quality wise.

Thanks.

Re: Recommended barbell in Australia

Anyone taking advantage of the doller aproaching parity?

Garage gym bumper sets are $350 USD on their site and $899 AU on gymandfitness.

Think there is a way to take advantage of this?

Re: Recommended barbell in Australia

I think the shipping is the killer for bumpers. However I'd be very interested in a C2 rower. I feel that has a better payoff with a high dollar. Warranty wouldn't necessarily be honored as it is a parallel import.

Cheers,
Jeremy

Re: Recommended barbell in Australia

Currently saving for a Pendlay bar from the Australian K/bell website - $550 for the bar and i think $34 for shipping from Melb to Adelaide. I think they're available from early December - come on Christmas!

Here is the link (WFS)

http://www.kettlebells.com.au/store/...ympic-bar.html

This is the bushing class bar, they have the one with needle bearings, too, but it's just a touch out of my price range. The bar looks really nice, specifically made for weightlifting with moderate whip, not some 32mm stiff-as powerlifting bar.

Was looking into the bars avail. from Maxim (conveniently located here in Adelaide) but i've got to say the Pendlay looks like a better option. It's a well known US brand and from the sounds of things the quality is better at a cheaper price than what i would get from Maxim - even with the little bit extra for shipping. I am on a pretty tight budget and with making such a big purchase i really want to make every penny count and make sure i'm getting the absolute best for my coin.

As far as bumpers go, i'm still undecided.

Re: Recommended barbell in Australia

I spent the last month researching and checking out friends bars. I ended up getting a Troy Texas Power Bar, from 'Aussie Strength Equipment' in Sydney. Really good bar, 28mm shaft, awesome rotation for cleans and snatches. It did cost a bit though, think it was around $500.

Oh I forgot the link! It's www.aussiestrength.com.au

And yes, I was swayed by a bar that's named after me haha!
