From the Seattle Times. Perhaps crossfit should change it's business model so that it can get more $$$. It seems that the only way this scheme works is if there is a lack of results, so maybe Crossfit also needs to change programing too.

We just provide all of our clients with shock collars. They learn quickly not to try to escape.

"It's a contract," said Matt Messinger, a Bally spokesman. "When it comes to quitting our health clubs, if you're a month-to-month person, you're more than welcome to stop coming and stop paying your bill.

"But if you've decided that you're going to make a commitment to fitness ... that's an obligation."

Having a kid is an obligation. Not being able to get out of your contract even after you move is ridiculous.

Funny that Bally's expects a comittment to fitness from their clients, but fails to commit to providing it...

Jeremy, you should just fight them for it.

If there we no contracts and sales process, would they be in business.

The model is based on leasing space to people rather than training them. It is like renting an apartment, you pay, your get a room. You pay extra for everything. It it is included, it is not worth anything.
