Re: Crossfit Total

Well, the Main Page WOD seems to fit right in with this equation. I'll make sure that this is a portion of my workout tonight.

I'm going to do my best to get a digital camera in there to get a video of at least a couple of the sets. Since I'm lifting at a Gold's Gym, I'm not sure how fond of that they will be if anyone happens to notice.

Is there an angle that is preferred for analyzing form? I would plan to do one or two sets with the camera directly behind me and then one or two from either the left or the right side. Also, this will be a digital camera, so it might not be the best quality video, but I'll do my best.

Re: Crossfit Total

A front 45 degree angle is a pretty good view for analyzing form. Side view is helpful if you're trying to track bar path or see if you're sitting back far enough.

Re: Crossfit Total

Sorry it took me so long, but these videos take forever to upload to YouTube. Also, I have videos of heavier squats as well as videos shot from either my left or right side at a 90 degree angle if anyone wants to comment, but thinks another angle would help. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Re: Crossfit Total

My total sucks for a guy my size.

Height: 6'4"
Weight: Usually 275-285

Press: 195
Squat: 355
Deadlift: 500

Total: 1050.

I've been told a guy my size should have a 1200 total at least.

Re: Crossfit Total

Haven't hit a total since early September '10

33 yrs. old ; 5'11" 235-40ish

OH: w/belt and wrist wraps Strict 270, Push 335, Jerk 365 (no split)
Squat: w/belt 655x2 (only 1rm during competitions)
Deadlift: w/belt 625x2 (only 1rm during cometitions) *straight weight*

I believe this puts me in advanced level for all three.

Sometime in January I will attempt a new total

Re: Crossfit Total

I haven't done this since early Oct. and have definitely added some individual PRs since then.
Press 67 lbs (last PR wass 72 lbs)
BS 133-haven't tried heavy 1RM
Dead 201 (current PR is 226)
CFT-401 lbs

I am 34, 5'4" 125 lbs. My press and bench press suck. Something I def. need to work on. Suspect my back squat is closer to the 150 range now. Hoping to be able to do 2x my weight deadlift in the next few months.

If it makes you feel any better, my press compared to my bench press is disproportional. I can press 163x5 and can only bench 225x5. Going to attempt a max bench and power clean within a couple days so I can have a max on all my big lifts before I start crossfitting again.

don't even get me started on my bench - that's horrible too.

I attribute it to: 1) being a soccer player in HS where all of the ill informed weight training coaches wanted us to do leg exercises and 2) having crazy long arms
