Hello, my name is Derek, and I am addicted to crossfit and Burgers. I get to experience crossfit everyday, but I have yet to come across the best burger in the world. WHERE IS IT??? Best I have had so far is in Peter Luger's Steakhouse in Brooklyn, New York. Let us all discuss and try to find the world's best burger!!!!!!

My grill.

Okay, so it's probably not the best burger in the world, but it's the best I can find with any degree of regularity. Grind your own beef chuck, little kosher salt and black pepper, and you'll get a proper burger.

I dont know much about high end restaurant burgers but as far as chain restaurants go I have say In-N-Out is the hands down winner. In a slightly more formal place, I've always had a soft spot for Fuddruckers. But I think Derek has the ultimate right answer. I've never had a better burger or steak than the ones I cook on my grill.

Making your own is where it's at. Buy the best meat you can afford, Grassfed is very good, though it will be lean, I like Brisket, hence here is the recipe for a great burger. Link is w/f/s

http://thebbqgrail.com/2009/04/11/brisket-burgers/

Have a butcher grind your meat, maybe adding a lb or two of pork, season, let set overnight, then fire up over a hot charcoal grill, rare to medium rare, skip the bun, it's worthless and adds nothing to the meat.

Top with your fav's, now you're talking. Anything under 1/2 lb is a finger food.

Houston's (in Houston, TX) is probably the best restaurant burger I've had.

My first burger, which included the bun, in several years was Friday at McKenzie's BBQ in Conroe, TX. Double meat, double cheese. I needed a nap after. (See pic below)

Home grilled burgers that I make are a combination of venison and brisket. On second thought, these may be the tastiest.

The deer burgers I made this past Thursday kinda kicked a$$ too. Or 1/2 deer, 1/2 beef.

Yep, homemade is best.

Here's our recipe:
-3 parts grassfed beef
-2 parts pastured pork
- this is our secret ingredient...crushed pork rinds!
-some melted raw cheddar

Deeelish!

Ghetto Burger at Ann's Snack Bar near East Atlanta, per the WSJ. I'm not into 3 hour waits for lunch, but everyone who goes says they are the best.

Lobby bar at the Four Seasons Hotel in Austin, Texas makes an outstanding burger. Not fancy, just good. (And they are happy to cook it rare, hold the bun, and replace the fries with greens--not that anyone here would be interested in such abominations).
