crossfit journey to being fit

Well, I am currrently 3 weeks into crossfit now. I'm attending Crossfit Timpanogos here in Utah and LOVE it. I think I am addicted already! So, I'll begin this log with today's WOD.

5X5 Press

then

AMRAP in 15:00
Power Snatch (75lbs)
Box Jump (24")
200M Run

--completed 5 full rounds, time ran out with me having 100M left to complete a 6th round.

This was the first time I've done power snatches and I believe I have a new favorite lift! I know I pushed myself as hard as I could today because I almost got to the point of hyperventilating (sp?). I am going to have to do some research on why that happened though. I don't know if i was breathing incorrectly or what?? I'm going to do some reading up on this topic.

Anyways, I'm 71" and weighed in at 195lbs this morning. I am very happy with my progress in the past 3 weeks as I have gone from 210lbs to what I am at this morning. I've been following Paleo for Athletes for the past 3 weeks as well and just love how I feel. I love the humbling experience from every WOD I have done in the past few weeks as well .

Glad to be here on the site, and so excited to continue my journey!

2 - 4:17 (small black)
3 - 5:07 (small black)

comments - very intense workout for myself. heart and lungs were still racing at the end of the 3min rest in between rounds. loved the workout, and am at ~20mins post and still breathing heavily. Gotta love EPOC!!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Excess_...en_consumption

Re: crossfit journey to being fit

Work to a 1RM with Clean and Jerk for 20mins

165lbs

"Annie"
50-40-30-20-10
double unders, situps

Finished in 12:12

-Pretty happy about this time! I barely took any rests if any. I really do need to work on my double unders. It was like a skip/doubleunder/skip/doubleunder type of jumping. I'm sure i'll get to the point of when I can do double under after double under!

-Also an another note, I hit 194lbs on the scale today! Pretty stoked about that. Also I have 3 other of my friends from work going to the affiliate here! Gonna be so much fun, and i'm sure pretty competitive haha

Re: crossfit journey to being fit

‎5-10-15

Back squat 225/135

Box jump 24″/20″

Ring dips

7:28 (205/last 15 dips blue)

Really stoked about the time! Kind of beating myself up for doing 205, even though it was pretty tough, just to get a quicker time. Also I'm sure I could hav done my last 15 ring dips w/o the band. I should have just broke the set up or something. I'm sure I'll Rx this if I ever see it again

One thing I never mentioned is that I'm doing CFFB type of programming at my affiliate.

Re: crossfit journey to being fit

Deadlift:

5-5-5-5-5

135-185-225-275-315

——————————————-

40-30-20-10

Wall balls

Ring push-ups

18: and i forgot seconds

**This WOD by far was one of the hardest one's I've done these past 4 weeks. Don't ask me why, but it was hard. Was dripping in sweat. Using the arms to throw the ball up, then go strait to pushups....was not easy by any means....

completion is all I cared about on that one
