Re: Shane's "I'm not really doing crossfit" log

Day 9 - 08July2009 - I need more MetCon
========================
Run for 30 minutes at 50% resistance. - Record distance.
6 pullups
1 Jumping Muscle-up
10 sumo press cinderblocks
10 military press cinderblocks
========================
Distance = 3060 meters, 1.90 miles.
Started to have to work for it at 19-20 minutes. From 20-30 mins is where I have that love/hate relationship with myself. Which dog will I feed?

Also threw in there an extra remnant of the independence day workout, as the upper body muscle pain was starting to ease and feeling tight. Just to stretch them out so they dont get <too> bulky. Cant have my shirts not fitting now can I?

Nice job. The cinderblocks look (sounds) fun.

Re: Shane's "I'm not really doing crossfit" log

I happen to have several left over from a construction project I did in my garden and rabbitry. They can... exfoliate.. your hands pretty quickly if you dont wear gloves. I figured they weighed about 35 pounds, other sources say a standard one is about 42. A good thing to have around!

Re: Shane's "I'm not really doing crossfit" log

Day 10 - 09July2009 - Still More Metcon
===============================
3 rounds each of the following, NO REST
20 Tabata Squats
20 Tabata Pushups
20 Jumping Jacks

Rest 5 Mins.
Follow up with:
Run Yesterdays Distance for speed, no resistance. Record Time.
==================================================
Time for "Distance = 3060 meters, 1.90 miles" = 26:03
Time for 3200 meters, 2 miles = 27:30

Started to have to work for it at about 4 mins today. 14 Mins the love/hate became mostly hate, 21 Mins presented a serious hurdle. dropped back a bit, pushed through it by the goal distance. Pushed through the goal distance to an even 2 miles. Cooled down an additional 440 I didnt time.

I think tabata squats are what makes me want to puke. bleargh.

Re: Shane's "I'm not really doing crossfit" log

Not unless Im going for speed. Right now these are ripping me up and the ability to actually DO these excercises after being a desk jockey for 12 years is pretty damned impressive, to me at least. And Im the only one im trying to impress =D
