Talking Re: Melissa W's Workout Log (Cue 1980s training montage)

Lots of ladies do come to the boot camp workouts, so they will be in good company if you can talk them into it. If you come out on Saturday, be sure to find me and introduce yourself. I will look just like my picture, only redder in the face and much sweatier.

Deal, I hope I'll have them with me to partake in the fun!

Congratulations to Crossfit Central's own Jeremy Thiel! Jeremy took 3rd place at the Crossfit Games. He is an amazing athlete and an awesome example of what utter dedication in the pursuit of excellence looks like.

Re: Melissa W's Workout Log (Cue 1980s training montage)

CF Central WOD last night--
For time, 7 rounds of:
10 Sumo DL HP (55 lbs for women)
10 Ring dips
13:45

Saw the workout on the board and was happy because I usually enjoy doing SDLHP, but for some reason last night I felt kind of weak during the workout. That was probably a weight increase for me over the last time we did that many SDLHP though -- I think maybe I did 45 lbs last time. The ring dips were also killer. We finished out the workout with some med ball core work and sprints.

Almost couldn't get to sleep last night my triceps and elbows were so sore. That means bigger arms by next week, right?

Awesome job on the WOD! You'll have to post some pics of the "Big Guns" next week!

Ha ha, hilarious! The only people who think my arms are big right now are my friends...who have underdeveloped arms. You know, the same friends who are "getting concerned" about my Crossfit obsession.

300 Workout this morning:
8 Hill Repeats + Tabata squats
Sprint up the hill, jog back to the bottom. At the bottom squat as many times as possible for 20 seconds and rest for 10 sec. Do this two times before beginning the next hill repeat.
Did 15 squats/set...not as many as the last time I did this workout (16-17 per, 5/28/08), but my sprints were way more effective today. When I did it in May, this workout was the first one that ever made me feel nauseous. Ah, memories. But then again I did notice that my legs got more benefit out of this single workout than any of the other 300 workouts I have done on my own.

Didn't feel like I was going to throw up today, so I guess that is an improvement.

Matt, I like your shirt -- looks fantastic!

I think I'll wait until I, um, *actually* heart burpees before getting a shirt to advertise the fact.

Just let me know when you're ready to order one and I'll PM you the link. Just remember that by we really mean hate! You might be closer to being ready than you think!

Your friends with the underdeveloped arms that think you're "obsessed" should be motivation enough to work even HARDER on the WODs! It would be for me!

I will add that to my list of motivating factors!

My friends are actually quite supportive now. I think they were concerned at first. But then I reminded them that I like to take on extreme challenges and then just chip away until I meet my goals.

I thought it was hilarious when one friend who hadn't seen me in a while remarked that I "look like Ripley" (from "Alien"). Ha ha, I don't think so bud. But thanks for the compliment!
