Beez's Martial Artist's CrossFit Log

After many years of researching and practicing different methodologies of fitness (HIT, HIIT, Max OT, etc.) I discovered by accident CrossFit about a year ago and am completely convinced that this is greatest program ever devised.

I am 42 years old, 6' 1", 182 lbs and am not looking to build/bulk up because it will hinder my particular style of martial arts - wing chun, kenpo and taichi. I am primarily looking to build upon and improve my functional fitness. While I track all of my workouts manually in a log, I look forward to also tracking them here.

Today's WOD:

AMRAP in 20 minutes of:

10 wallball shots
10 GHD sit-ups
10 back extensions

Completed 12 rounds + 2 wallball shots.

Re: Beez's Martial Artist's CrossFit Log

Spent the past couple of days really concentration on proper form on deadlift and overhead squat.

Never really tried for max weight before because I never did a lot of deadlifting. After a LOT of watching Coach Rippetoe's vids (and waiting for Starting Strength which is on order) and videorecording my sessions, I decided to put on a bit more weight today to see what I can do. Started with just 95 lbs and moved up. Ended up maxing out at 255 pounds.
