Painstorm - February '10

5 rounds of
1000lb Ground to overhead anyhow then immediately
Row 500m

Rest 3:00 between rounds

Post each round time and row time to comments. Also, did you stick with the same load and lift for each interval?

Cheers, kempie

Re: Painstorm - February '10

Looks good. I think I'm going to do 5 reps of 200# C&J each round. Should help with my goal of doing "Grace" @185lbs in under 5:00.

This is just a prediction, but I think we'll see the best times posted with 10 reps of power snatch @ 100#.

All 5 rounds averaging 1:50-2:10.

Just my guess...

Yeah, I was thinking about load/rep schemes the other day and I think that's how it'll turn out too, but where's the fun in that?

Re: Painstorm - February '10

65-75 lbs power snatch would be the way to go.

Re: Painstorm - February '10

I chose 7 reps of 65kg (145lb) power clean and push press, lighter would've let me just touch and go instead of having to take a breath before reps 6 and 7
Rounds were between 2.55 and 3.18. The worst bit was, like Barbara, the rest between the rounds letting everything settle and start to recover before doing it all again whilst feeling a little ill!

1000lbs of ground to overhead means lift weight until it equals a total 1000lbs lifted right?

And when you say "anyhow" you mean by any method one would choose? or am I just dumb?

.... dont answer the last question lol. :P

Yes to the first one so 10 reps at 100lb, 5 reps at 200lb etc
Yes to the second one - snatch, clean and jerk, deadlift reverse curl strict press - whatever floats your boat

To the 3rd one I just couldn't say ... ;p

Cheers, kempie

Re: Painstorm - February '10

Have had a play with this over the last couple of days. My chosen load was 167 for 6 reps

First go I tried just a single round before a client showed up

2:20 total with a 1:29.5 row. All out and pretty nasty

Next day started off with a 2:25 with 1:32.9 row - second round was 2:39 with a 1:43.2 row - rolling about on the floor for 6 or 7 minutes after that. All out sprint is good in theory but I think to complete this I'm gonna need to rein it in a bit.

Having cooked this up I will do the full monty before the end of the month.

Cheers, kempie
