Good day all,

I was looking over the Ladies and came across "Murph". What an amazing WOD. Here is the deal. On 28 June 2005 LT Murphy was killed in Afghanistan. Read the link for more details.

http://www.newsday.com/news/local/longisland/ny-enseal0201,0,4864775.story?coll= ny-top-headlines

28 June is my Birthday and I will be 32 years old. I want to have a goal to work towards from now till then to keep myself motivated. So I would like to get people to do that WOD on 28 June of this year to honor LT Murphy. I will be doing it as prescribed and will post results on the site. I hope that others will follow.

Hey Steve,

The whole Crew at Steel City CrossFit will get on board - if you want a central gathering point for a group in the Hamilton area we will host it as well.

Cheers,
Adam

I am excited for this. Try to get your friends to time you or count reps. Heck make them do it too. I was just surfing the archives and found this thread. WFS

I'll be in on this one along with all of my client base. As a member of his BUD/S class, words cannot describe his character and charisma even when his body was broken during training.

MURPH
1 mile Run
100 Pull-ups
200 Push-ups
300 Squats
1 mile Run

For time.

Partition the pull-ups, push-ups, and squats as needed. Start and finish with a mile run. If you've got a twenty pound vest or body armor, wear it.

I hope that we can get the word out and that people get as many people doing this as possible. In London I think that I will have a registration and any money collected will be donated to the MFRC here. I will get T-Shirts made up too. Should be a good event.

Thursday 15th of March will be Murph 1/3rd. I am getting the people in my area to do it scaled to a third just to get warmed up and so they can have an idea of what they are getting into.

1km
33 Pull Ups
66 Push Ups
99 Squats
1km

For time. No Weight this time around. Don't worry we will get there.

Wouldn't it be something if on 28 June they posthumously award LT Murphy with the Congressional Medal of Honor? It looks like he may be getting it from all appearances.
