Re: Marianne's log

Today, back at the gym.. worked out a little extra today to make up for all the time off/eating and drinking I have been doing!!
Back squat:
95 x5
135 x 5
155 x 5
165 x 2
165 x 2 I may have been able to do the third, but I chickened out cuz I wasn't in the cage and I was afraid I would be too far forward to properly dump it if I failed..

Deadlift:
125 x 5
145 x 5
175 x 5
195 x 5
210 x 3 (ripped hand, so I stopped. )

WOD: 3 Rds for time: 20 T2B (sub K2E if unable to do T2B), 20 Dumbbell Thrusters (25/15) scaled up to 20#
400 M Run(I subbed 500M row for this cuz it was really icy out and I hate rowing, so I wanted to do what I don't like)
time: 17:03

Re: Marianne's log

Today we did Grace.. I was really bummed about this one.. I have been working my clean and jerk and I wanted to do at LEAST 85#. last time i did 80# (and they made us do full squat cleans!!).. today I put 85# on the bar and I could already tell it was going to be too much, so I put 80# on again and decided I would go for better form.. This time we also did power cleans

Last time: 4/2/10 80# with full squat cleans: 9:24.
Today: with 80# and power cleans: 6:05

I was very disappointed with it all around. I was pressing most of the jerks and I just didn't feel "on" today.. I am going to continue to work the clean and jerk and do this again on my own sometime in the next month. Today was 5:30AM and I was tired. (no excuse!)....

Re: Marianne's log

Big Snow Storm here in CT, so I haven't been into gym in 2 days.. been doing stuff at home..
Today was going to do front squat and press, but hurt my shoulder on last set of front squats, so didnt press.. hurt too much.. bummer.. I felt it "tweek" on the 3rd one, but I pushed it to complete the set

Front squat:
95 x5
115 x 5
125 x 5--tweeked shoulder, but I think that was PR for me for 5!

Then instead of press I did:
5 rounds
20 GHD
20 pushups
10:52 didn't really push the time.. was mad about my shoulder!!

I am at a dental convention all next week, so I will do my best to get WODs in ... difficult with the late night partying and all day meetings..

Re: Marianne's log

Hey Marianne! I wondered how you made out with the snow, you guys got it worse than we did. Nothing like snow shoveling for time!!
Sorry to hear about the shoulder, rest up! Nice work, congrats on the front squat PR!!

thanks Deb.. yea, we got like 22 inches here and it has taken a toll on everything.. There just isn't any place to put the snow and we are not used to all this!
I will be away all next week, so I will rest up the shoulder.. I just was feeling like it was finally back to "normal", so I hope I didn't set it back.. we just don't recover like we used to!!

Re: Marianne's log

Son had wisdom teeth out yesterday, so I just had a little time for a quick workout. Elizabeth seemed perfect.. and it is relatively easy on my shoulder, which is still bothering me..

Elizabeth: 21/15/9
rx for guys is 135, my gym had rx for women at 75, but I thought that was too light. Most of women on main page today did 95, but that was too much for me.. I did 83# and used skinny little red band for ring dips.

time: 8:55

I think that is my first time doing this one..

Re: Marianne's log

Been away for a week at a convention. did a lot of mixups stuff there, didn't post them..

figures.. come back to first workout of the week yesterday:
FRAN!!
I can tell I have been eating bad, drinking too much and....
21/15/9 thrusters (63#)/pullups : time: 6:55 (last time was 6:13)

Today:
Back squat:
95 x 5
135 x 5
155 x 5 (really tough for some reason)
135 x 5
this was also really bad for me.. I have been back squatting every week and I had worked up to 165 for 3 or so and today I will tell you that 155 felt really hard. what is up with that?!

then:
AMRAP
10 deadlift (175 was rx for women)
5 lateral burpees
did 5 rounds and 3 deadlifts
