Ceremony is at 8:30 (eastern), use jumbrotron if espn stopped, what I've been using all weekend.

I also third that the announcer got annoying, Castro or Oldroyd should have done it this year.

Re: CF Games 2011 General Thread

Yep, Ben Smith held back himself to 3rd... coulda made a run for 2nd

Bridges get 8/2/4 for 71+95+85 = 251 pts

Smith gets 22/9/2 for 65+69+95 = 229 pts

Of course, Froning with the best strategy going more all out on the first two for 3/1/8 (E.g. save your energy for the shorter effort workouts which are the first ones).

(1st) 100+ 90 (3rd) + 71 (8th) = 261 pts

I'm not sure if he planned that but it was more effective and is the correct strategy.

(Sigh) It was clearly announced that the ceremony would be at 5:30 (Pacific), which would still be ~25 minutes from now.

They shut off the ESPN feed though, so assuming it will not be shown there.

Holmberg actually had the best strategy by that way, totals 280 points I believe, 2 firsts and 4th.

It is better to higher on two and tank one than it is to get consistently in 4th. (1+3+8)/3 = 4th average.

4th*3 = 85 * 3= 255 pts
(1st) 100+ 90 (3rd) + 71 (8th) = 261 pts

First workout is definitely a weakness at 26th though.
You actually proved my point dude. He killed it on events 1 and 2. In the 3rd event, he wasn't quite as strong. He OWNS any event that is around 15 minutes or less. Sure the 3rd event was technically only 10 to 15 minutes, but it was grouped with 2 others.

Regardless, he is an animal and the best crossfitter. But just not the best crossfitter on the longer events, thats all.

So...Spirit of the Games?
I say Annie T. or Annie S. Both just looked like they were out there having fun on a playground.
