Ready to start zone
About 2 months ago I finally made the decision to clean up my diet.
Instead of jumping head first into the zone, I concentrated on eating better and cleaner. I think now I am ready to start zoning. This really makes me feel dumb, but I need help understanding blocks, etc. I weigh 215. I am 6'0". My bf is? I can barely see my upper 2 abs. I am guessing that I need to be around 195 to 205. Any advice would be appreciated. Also, I really do not want to be any larger. I would like to get my "ideal" size. I have been doing Crossfit for about 3 years and continue to put on muscle. Thanks. |

Re: Ready to start zone
I forgot to ask. How do I determine what body type I am?

Re: Ready to start zone
Jeff, the easiest way is to enter your measurements into this calculator (WFS) to get an estimate of your body fat percentage and necessary Zone blocks. The body types listed in CFJ #21 are estimates of this estimate. Most people list Crossfit as "moderate" exercise if they're trying to lose weight and maintain muscle. When you reach a maintenance point then increase your fat blocks.

Re: Ready to start zone
Another way is to checkout http://www.zoneliving.com and under "zone tools" choose body fat calculator.
That is also the official website of Zone and can provide you with a ton of information including additional recipes you might not find here on the forums. |
